Per diem employees may work 0-16 hours per week.
Temporary employees may be assigned to work up to 40 hours per week.

Position Description
Performs all duties outlined for the Imaging Technologist I position. The Imaging Technologist II also performs Computed Tomography (CT) scans and/or Mammography (M) under the clinical guidance and supervision of the Radiologist.
Major Responsibilities

Produces diagnostic radiographs, Computed Tomography exams and/or Mammography as requested by the medical providers following the guidelines in the Policies and Procedures Manual and the Washington Administrative Code (WAC).
Performs quality control tasks as necessary and carefully documents.
Coordinates with department scheduling staff to ensure Urgent or STAT procedures are given priority and scheduled in a timely manner.
Ensures comfort and safety for all patients during transport to and from the Department.
Explains to the patient all procedures to be performed. Responds to special needs, requests, and concerns of the patient.
Provides lead shielding to all personnel and patients whenever possible to anyone exposed to radiation and practices within the As Low As Reasonably Achievable (ALARA) guidelines.
Ensures patient safety by obtaining the required equipment and personnel to perform the procedure requested.
Carefully checks each radiograph produced to ensure it meets all written guidelines for adequate diagnostic quality.
Helps to maintain a safe, clean environment in the Diagnostic Imaging department and hospital wide.
Cooperates and coordinates with the Lead Technologist, Imaging Director, Radiologist, Medical Staff, and Nursing staff to ensure a healthy and productive environment for good patient care.
Participates in the monthly departmental meetings reporting on any assigned tasks and sharing information/ideas with department personnel.
Conducts self in an ethical manner compatible with the dignity of the profession.
Prepares all radiographs with comparison films and a complete history to be ready for the Radiologist's interpretation.
Coordinates workload to ensure all procedures are done in the most efficient manner possible.
Assigns charges (billing) of all procedures performed on the request forms or in the EMR.

Education and/or Experience

Washington State Radiologic Technologist license required
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) required
American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)(R) Radiographer certification required
American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)(CT) Computed Tomography required or obtained within one year of hire OR minimum of two years CT experience required (Technologists performing unsupervised and on-call CT coverage must be familiar with 3 dimensional anatomy and have hands-on experience with CT scanner)OR
American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) (M) Mammography certification required (Technologists certified in mammography must meet all required FDA Mammography Quality Standards Act and State stipulations to perform mammography at this facility)
