Shift: Rotating 4 tens schedule M-F
Position Purpose:

Key Responsibilities
-
Works under the direction of the provider and the Arizona State Nurse Practice Act to provide. professional nursing care for clinic patients in compliance with nursing standards and regulations.

Triage patients by phone or in person, receiving and implementing telephone physician orders, maintaining clinical communication in dynamic environment.

Responsible for maintaining all applicable KHI Policies and Procedures.

Escorts patient to exam room and prepares patient for exam including vital signs, history, and reason for seeking care.

Cross trains in data entry, balancing of accounts, charges fees and collect payments due.

Schedules/confirms appointments.
-
Maintains and facilitates communication between patients, family, and clinical staff.

Reports as necessary to Public Health at direction of provider.

Maintains work area including exam rooms, supplies, medication, and immunizations.

Performs CLIA waived lab tests and obtains specimens.
-
Performs proficiency testing and runs controls for waived tests.
-
May perform venipuncture.

Participates in division meetings.
Qualifications
Education:
-
Graduate of a practical or vocational nursing program
-
High school graduate or equivalent.
Licensure
: Current, valid Arizona LPN license or compact state LPN/LVN license
Certification:
BLS through the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
Skills and Knowledge:

Ability to communicate effectively with others

Knowledge of and ability to use computer hardware and software applications

Ability to recognize and respond appropriately to urgent/emergent situations per protocol

Knowledge of and ability to implement direct care, newborn through geriatric

Knowledge of and ability to use basic medical terminology
Preferences
Experience:
One to two years’ experience as a Licensed Practical Nurse in a clinical outpatient setting
