Job Description
The Radiology Registered Nurse (RN-IR) provides specialized nursing care to patients undergoing diagnostic and interventional radiology procedures. This role includes pre-procedure assessment, intra-procedure monitoring, sedation administration, and post-procedure recovery and education. The Radiology RN works collaboratively with radiologists, technologists, and other healthcare providers to ensure patient safety and high-quality care. The Radiology RN will apply knowledge of patient protection, emergency protocols and procedures, and proper equipment utilization to maximize safety in the work environment. This position cares for all ages of patients from newborn through geriatric populations; as well as inpatient, emergency, and outpatient settings. The employee must be able to work independently and efficiently with minimal supervision. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Perform pre-procedure patient assessments, including medical history, allergies, medications, and vital signs Provide education to patients and families about procedures, potential risks, and post-care instructions Assist with and monitor patients during imaging or interventional procedures (e.g., biopsies, injections, drainages, etc.) Administer moderate sedation and monitor patient response per protocol and physician orders Respond to emergencies and manage adverse reactions to contrast media or medications Ensure accurate documentation of nursing assessments, medication administration, and patient monitoring in the Epic EMR Collaborate with radiologists and technologists to coordinate patient care and procedural workflow Provide post-procedure care including monitoring recovery, assessing for complications, and ensuring safe discharge or transfer Hours/Shifts Casual (Less than 32 hours bi-weekly), Day Shifts Open Date: 07/02/2026 Preferred Application Deadline: 07/09/2026 Compensation The pay range for the RN position is $38.81-$59.17/hour. BSN adds $1.00/hour. Please note that final compensation will be determined based on experience, qualifications and internal equity considerations. Graduate of an accredited nursing program with an Associate or Bachelor of Science in Nursing Current and unrestricted Registered Nurse license in Minnesota BLS and ACLS certification required Successful completion of the pre-employment health screening process Must be able to attend the work site as scheduled, including weekends and holidays Must have venipuncture competencies, or obtained within 1 month of hire date
