Positions will be offered in New Haven, Middletown, Cheshire, and Guilford.Position HighlightsDepartment: Middlesex Health ENT and Facial Plastic SurgeryHours: Full-Time & Part-Time PositionsSummaryThe Receptionist is the central point of communication among patients, providers, other members of the health care team and client companies. She/he provides a superior level of service excellence to patients, providers and staff in a caring and supportive manner. Maintains strict patient confidentiality of personal and financial information of patients at all times. Provides registration data entry, clerical and reception functions including answering and routing telephone calls, greeting patients, scheduling appointments, processing medical records requests, filing and any related tasks as delegated by the Manager.ResponsibilitiesUnder general supervision:Greets patients and responds to inquiries providing appropriate customer service Assists patient with practice/office-specific registration processes, to include kiosk/computer registration process if neededEnters patient demographic and/or insurance information into appropriate electronic medical record (EMR) system for tracking, billing or other purposesSchedules/reschedules patient appointments based on department/practice policy or guidelinesCollects and posts patient payments as requiredAnswers phones and responds to patient inquiries appropriately; addresses patients needs based on the scope of the position and clinical setting. Appropriately triages calls, referring to providers as necessary.Responds to inquiries from patient message inbox in timely mannerCompletes appropriate work items utilizing EMR system, to include patient follow-ups, pre-registrations, referrals, insurance authorizations, and other matters as needed Scans patient records into appropriate EMR systemProcesses faxes, incoming mail, and paperwork as requiredCompletes daily office close and reconciliation as neededUnderstands and utilizes EMR system consistent with role, abides by all federal laws and organizational privacy policies Performs administrative and other duties consistent with position and needs of officeSupports staffing needs of other offices when operationally necessary.
