**Job Summary:**

Provides clinical expertise and care related to nutritional support in an outpatient setting.

**Job Responsibilities:**

* Conducts presentations to groups of all sizes regarding nutrition education and cooking classes.

* Offers general and complex health management resources , nutrition education and support and meal planning for nutrition patients and groups. Distributes education literature to patients.

* Responsible for community programming and education regarding nutrition, weight management and healthy eating.

* Manages and facilitates the weight management program for adults.

* Provides nutrition education, support and training for patients and healthcare providers on the theories, principles, and practices of general and specialized nutritional support using the nutrition care process.

* Represents Healthpark in community and throughout the organization as nutrition expert.

* Writes articles for local newspapers, speaks to groups, and regularly speaks with media on topics related to food and nutrition.

* Applies nutrition care process, a systematic approach to providing high quality nutrition care.

* Develops and distributes nutrition education material to patients, employees, and the community.

* Researches and applies trending nutrition science and applications.

* Works collaboratively with multi-disciplinary team to manage care of patients.

* Trains and acts as a mentor for dietetic interns.

* Coordinates and facilitates children's weight management programing.

* Assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates nutrition educational programs for patients, providers and members and the community.

**Position Requirements:**

**Work Experience**

* No experience required

**Education**

* Bachelor's degree or higher in Food Service Management required upon hire OR

* Bachelor's degree or higher in Nutrition required upon hire OR

* Bachelor's degree or higher in related field required upon hire

**Licensure/Certification/Registration**

* Dietitian - Licensed Dietitian in the state of Kentucky required within 120 days of employment in this position AND

* Heartsaver CPR AED required within 90 days of employment in this position OR

* BLS - Certified as a Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider required within 90 days of employment in this position AND

* First-aid certification required within 90 days of employment in this position
