Position Summary:
The Pharmacy Resident is a pharmacist-in-training who provides comprehensive pharmaceutical care through participation in structured clinical, operational, and educational experiences. Working under the supervision of the Director of Pharmacy and the Residency Program Director, this role supports safe medication use, integrated medication management systems, and patient-centered clinical services across care settings. As part of a collaborative pharmacy team, the resident functions as a developing clinician while progressively increasing responsibility and independence. This position operates within a supportive learning environment that values mentorship, teamwork, and professional growth, and contributes to clinical excellence and high-quality pharmacy services across the health system.
Key Responsibilities:
Participate in clinical pharmacy services, including medication therapy management, patient counseling, and interdisciplinary care activities.
Support medication distribution and operational pharmacy functions in accordance with established policies and safety standards.
Collaborate with pharmacists, physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to optimize medication use and patient outcomes.
Participate in quality improvement, medication safety, and formulary-related activities as part of the residency program.
Complete residency learning experiences, projects, and evaluations in alignment with program goals and accreditation standards.
Maintain accurate documentation and demonstrate professional accountability in all clinical and operational activities.
