PATIENT CARE TECH - SPECIALTY CLINIC - PRN

**_JOB SUMMARY:_** Provides patient/resident care activities under the direction of Registered Nurse and/or Licensed Practical Nurse. Assists patient/residents with activities of daily living, provides for personal care, comfort and assists in the maintenance of a safe and clean environment for patient/residents. **_JOB SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS:_** **Minimum knowledge, skills, and abilities:** * High school graduate or GED preferred. * Completion of the Certified Nursing Assistant program OR be listed as having passed CNA competency testing on the Iowa Direct Care Worker registry. May be certified as a medic or Combat Lifesaver (through military duty) or have EMS certification as a base provider. * Current American Heart Association (AHA) Heart Code BLS required. New employees certify within three (3) months after hire date. * Ability to read and communicate effectively in English. * High degree of empathetic listening, tact and kindness toward others. * Effective verbal and nonverbal communication skills required. * Must work effectively as a member of a team. * Previous acute or long-term care experience preferred. * Technical and critical thinking skills required to perform duties. * Basic computer knowledge.
