Pay Range: The base pay range for this position is $135,000.00-$150,000.00 Annual however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Position Overview: Pullman Regional Hospital is seeking a Nurse Practitioner (NP) to join our Pre-Admit Clinic team. This NP will focus on optimizing patients for surgery, ensuring surgical readiness, and improving perioperative safety. The role is high-impact and directly supports elective and urgent surgical patients (excluding low-risk endoscopy or pain procedures) by performing comprehensive preoperative assessments, risk stratification, and optimization. The ideal candidate is an independent, patient-focused NP who can manage moderate- to high-risk surgical patients, coordinate care with anesthesia and surgeons, and participate in quality initiatives that reduce day-of-surgery cancellations and improve patient outcomes. A Day in the Life: Performs complete preoperative history and physical exams for all scheduled surgical patients. Independently clears patients for surgery, consulting with anesthesia (CRNA) for high-risk cases. Orders and interprets labs, imaging, and diagnostic tests relevant to preoperative optimization. Works closely with anesthesia, surgeons, nursing, and care coordination to ensure continuity of care. Provides education to staff and patients regarding pre-admission optimization and perioperative best practices. Collaborates in the development and implementation of preoperative optimization pathways, ERAS protocols, and quality improvement initiatives. Identifies and addresses safety concerns in the pre-admit clinic and perioperative workflows. Supports DNV certification goals through consistent documentation, standardized workflows, and adherence to evidence-based guidelines. Tracks and reports metrics related to surgical readiness, optimization, and day-of-surgery cancellations Pursues ongoing professional education and certification. About You! This Job is For You if You Have: Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program. Licensure as a registered professional nurse and certification as a Nurse Practitioner in the state of Washington. Certification in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS). DEA registration and Prescriptive Authority in the state of Washington. Experience in perioperative or acute care preferred but not required.
