Our values ask for a deeper level of commitment, and what is asked of us we freely give because we believe in our mission.RequiredQualifications:Currently enrolled and active in an accredited nursing programSuccessful completion of the 1st and 2nd semesters of a nursing programDocumentation from the accredited nursing program verifying the aboveCurrent BLS CertificationPreferredQualifications:Plans to potentially seek employment at SJRMC as an RN upon successful completion of nursing programDuties and Responsibilities:Provides individualized assistance with the activities of daily living appropriate for the area of practicePerforms vital signs and reports abnormal findings as indicatedCommunicates pertinent patient information to the appropriate members of the healthcare teamUnderstands and follows policy, procedure and regulatory requirements as outlined by SJRMCBuilds productive interpersonal relationships in every encounterDemonstrates teamworkA Nurse Tech may perform additional tasks (excluding medication administration) under the direct supervision of a licensed RNEach employee is responsible for implementing SJRMC’s Service Standards into their daily work:Safety, Courtesy, Effectiveness, and StewardshipOther duties as assignedPhysical Demands and Environmental Work Conditions:Must be able to see with corrective eyewear and hear clearly with assistanceMust be able to walk, stand, bend, squat, climb, kneel, and twist frequentlyMust be able to lift greater than fifty (50) pounds and push up to (300) pounds using approved hospital transport devicesPotential exposure to blood and bodily fluids and meets OSHA training requirementsSpecial Demands:Sets limits when dealing with angry, hostile, or sometimes verbally or physically abusive patients and families in an attempt to ensure a safe, respectful environment that will support the delivery of careEffectively copes and strives for balance when caring for acutely ill patients and families
