Our values ask for a deeper level of commitment, and what is asked of us we freely give because we believe in our mission.RequiredQualifications:• Currently enrolled and active in an accredited nursing program• Successful completion of the 1st and 2nd semesters of a nursing program• Documentation from the accredited nursing program verifying the above• Current BLS CertificationPreferredQualifications:• Plans to potentially seek employment at SJRMC as an RN upon successful completion of nursing programDuties and Responsibilities:• Provides individualized assistance with the activities of daily living appropriate for the area of practice• Performs vital signs and reports abnormal findings as indicated• Communicates pertinent patient information to the appropriate members of the healthcare team• Understands and follows policy, procedure and regulatory requirements as outlined by SJRMC• Builds productive interpersonal relationships in every encounter• Demonstrates teamwork• A Nurse Tech may perform additional tasks (excluding medication administration) under the directsupervision of a licensed RN• Performs other duties as assigned• Each employee is responsible for implementing SJRMC’s Service Standards into their daily work:Safety, Courtesy, Effectiveness, and StewardshipPhysical Demands and Environmental Work Conditions:• Must be able to see with corrective eyewear and hear clearly with assistance• Must be able to walk, stand, bend, squat, climb, kneel, and twist frequently• Must be able to lift greater than 50 pounds and push 0-300 pounds using approved hospital transport devices• Potential exposure to blood and bodily fluids and meets OSHA training requirementsSpecial Demands:• Sets limits when dealing with angry, hostile, or sometimes verbally or physically abusive patients and families in an attempt to ensure a safe, respectful environment that will support the delivery of care• Effectively copes and strives for balance when caring for acutely ill patients and families
