Job Requirements Position Summary The Wound/Ostomy nurse is a registered nurse who has demonstrated expertise, depth of knowledge, competence, and skills in the practice of wound and/or ostomy care. This role requires collaboration with clients, nursing staff, administration, medical staff, and other members of the healthcare team. Minimum Requirements EducationGraduate of an accredited nursing schoolBSN ExperienceThree years of clinical experience License/Registration/Certifications Licensed to practice nursing in South CarolinaCertified Wound Ostomy Nurse (CWON) Preferred Requirements Preferred Education- N/A Preferred Experience- Five years of clinical experience Preferred License/Registration/Certifications
- Certified Wound Ostomy Continence Nurse (CWOCN)BLS Certification Core Job Responsibilities Completes and coordinates patient assessment, providing hands-on expert careCoordinates and implements plans of careDevelops and monitors outcomes based on plans of careDevelops and presents educational programs and materials to clients and staff to support competent wound and/or ostomy care facility-wide and in the community- Complies with established policies and proceduresDemonstrates knowledge of professional nursing practice and theory- Assures continuity of care through effective decision making resulting in quality patient care- Documents all aspects of patient care by following established charting procedure to show the patient's progress or any change in the patient's condition- Other duties as assigned
