Job Description

Evaluation –
Obtains pertinent medical and social history. Performs thorough and accurate evaluations using techniques to objectively measure physical and functional status. Determines functional and measurable short and long term goals and designs an appropriate treatment program. Considers discharge options at time of initial evaluation.

Treatment –
Performs treatment as outlined in the initial evaluation. Modifies treatment as necessary, updates goals and re-evaluates discharge plans throughout the course of treatment. Demonstrates thorough knowledge of treatment techniques and applies appropriately. Treatment should include patient and family education and communication/interaction with appropriate team members.

Documentation –
Clinical documentation is timely, objective and complete. Administrative documentation including but not limited to billing and outcome measures is accurate and timely.
4.
Education –
Assumes personal responsibility for continuing education and professional development. Provides education to therapy staff, system employees and community.
5.
Supervision –
Supervises the patient care activities of assistants, aides and volunteers. Delegates routine care to supportive personnel as appropriate. May supervise students.
COMPETENCIES & WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
(e.g.license, registration, certification)
Must be licensed by the Connecticut Department of Public Health. New graduates will be considered.
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
Graduate of an accredited curriculum with a Masters of Occupational Therapy.

Must be licensed by the Connecticut Department of Public Health.

BLS certification required
