Job Description
The Radiology Technologist 2 participates in technical duties directly involved with all modalities in which they are registered including developing, initiating, and monitoring procedures for the effective utilization of the units. The Radiology Technologist 2 actively participates in outstanding customer service and accepts responsibility in maintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all. Facilitates the smooth operation of the department by performing a broad range of duties. Receives and processes paperwork; maintains on-going departmental records, performs exams according to policy while assuring patient safety, comfort and protection, assists radiologist and attending physician, communicates effectively and appropriately, works efficiently and productively, maintains a clean and safe environment by demonstrating proper use and care of equipment, reflects a caring attitude for patients, visitors, and employees and stays abreast of changes through continuing education programs. Other duties as assigned. On call shifts required at the discretion of the Radiology Director. All duties are performed in accordance with established policies and procedures. Essential Functions Works closely with the ER to maintain communication and checks that the reports are given to ER in timely manner. Ascertains an adequate history and diagnosis is given or exam ordered accordingly to established guidelines. Carries out exam according to policy while maintaining patient safety, comfort and protection. Applies proper shielding and collimation for patient protection according to established guidelines. Assists radiologist with fluoroscopy or localizing procedures as he/she indicates. Demonstrates knowledge of portable procedures involving trauma, surgery and routine floor Able to set up the C-arm for video swallows as well as perform the procedure. Maintains adequate inventory of radiology supplies such as barium products, contrast media, needles, gloves and paper products. Works efficiently and productively while maintaining a safe environment. Reports mechanical malfunctions or problems to the Radiology Director
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education Radiology Technologist Program License Radiology Technologist Certification American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) Registered Basic Life Support (BLS) through American Heart Association or American Red Cross Work Experience One year of experience
