The Division of Occupational Health Services (OHS) atMelroseWakefieldHospital is seeking a full-timeOccupational HealthServices NP/PA Managerto join our OHS team at our location in Medford, MA. This is a leadership opportunity with supervisory responsibilities managing a staff of four nursing professionals. The schedule for this role is 5 days per week (Mon-Fri) from 8:00 AM- 4:00 PM with no weekends, holidays, or call.Previousleadership experience working in an OHS hospital setting or occupational medicine clinic is highly desired.MelroseWakefieldHospital,located12 miles north of Boston, is a 234 bed, not-for-profit community hospital offering general and specialized medical care. The hospital is affiliated with Tufts Medical Center in Boston, a premier academic institution. Through our clinical affiliation with Tufts Medical Center, weare able toprovide our patients with highly specialized and tertiary level care when appropriate.Job Responsibilities:Responsible for providing care for pre-employment screening, work related injuries and exposures,follow-upand referral; fitness for duty and periodic employee health evaluationsAs an expert professional, the Occupational Health Nurse Practitioneror Physician Assistantis responsible and accountable for the application of theclinical practice, supervision ofnursing activities, research involvement when applicable, consultative services, inter and intradepartmental liaison, education,leadershipand patient care management across the health care continuum.Provides direct care, counseling, and teaching to employees and other workforce members according toestablishedcollaborative protocols and standards of carePromotes andmaintainsthe health and safety of individuals in the workplacePlays a critical role in preventing work-related injuries and illness, ensuring compliance with occupational health state and federal regulations, and providing comprehensive healthcare services to employeesConducts assessments of employees’ health and fitness for specific job rolesConducts assessments for suspected impairment and reasonable suspicion casesProvides health screenings and administers vaccinationsManages health surveillance programs toidentifypotential workplace health hazardsOffers education on injury prevention, ergonomicpracticesand health promotionProvides initial medical care andfacilitatesreferrals for workers’ compensation casesDemonstrates awareness of community resources andassistsstaff, patients, and families to effectivelyutilizethemOversees group of fournursing professionals with approximately 40% of time spent in providing clinical care and 60% of time with administrative, managerial and policy setting activitiesWho you are:Current license to practice as a registered nurse in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts with authorization by the Board of Registration in Nursing to practice in an expanded roleor current license to practice as a registered Physician Assistant with the Board of Registration of Physician AssistantsRegistered with the ANCC or other accrediting organization for Nurse Practitionersor certified by the NCCPA for Physician AssistantsRegistered with the State of Massachusetts and DEA for prescription writing privilegesCurrent BLS and ACLS CertificationA minimum of three years of current clinical nursing experience in Occupational Health and/or Adult Medicine is preferred.
