Job Description

OverviewProvides administrative, academic, and operational support to programs, faculty, and learners. This position is responsible for managing academic processes, coordinating educational activities, supporting accreditation requirements, and serving as a key resource for students, faculty, residents, and staff. This role ensures that programs operate efficiently and remain in full compliance with accrediting bodies and institutional requirements. Serves as a key contact and resource for faculty & learners and plays an essential role in managing the daily workflow and long-term academic objectives of the Office of Medical Education. ****This position will function similar to a Residency Program Coordinator- The Residency Program Coordinator, working closely with the Residency Program Director, will manage daily operations for the WakeMed Internal Medicine Residency Program. This position will perform continual program monitoring to ensure balance between residency clinical obligations, educational program requirements, ACGME accreditation, and individual resident needs. This position will serve as a liaison between the Program Director and other affiliated departments and agencies. The Residency Program Coordinator will support recruitment, accreditation, credentialing, budget tracking, faculty support, and compliance with regulatory requirements for the internal medicine residency program.  In addition, the Program Coordinator, like all Medical Education Department staff, will contribute to departmental medical education responsibilities as needed. ****  Department DescriptionServing the community since 1961, WakeMed Health & Hospitals is the leading provider of health services in Wake County.
