At WakeMed, we’re looking for a dedicated Respiratory Care Team Lead who’s passionate about clinical excellence, team collaboration, and making a meaningful impact on adult patients across our acute and critical care settings.If you’re a strong clinician who enjoys mentoring others, creating smooth workflows, and being the “go‑to” resource for your team — you’ll feel right at home here. What You’ll Do As the Adult Respiratory Care Team Lead, you’ll serve as a clinical and technical leader for Respiratory Therapists working in adult care settings. You’ll help guide daily operations, support safe and effective practice, and continue to deliver bedside care when needed. Your responsibilities include:Providing clinical and technical leadership for Adult Respiratory Care staff.Ensuring effective daily operations, including staffing support, workflow coordination, and equipment readiness.Delivering respiratory care under physician orders, including:All oxygen and aerosol therapiesAirway management and intubationArterial puncture and blood gas analysisMechanical ventilation for adult patientsAssessing adult patients, planning care, implementing therapy, and evaluating effectiveness.Facilitating rental and management of respiratory equipment as needed.Promoting high standards of teamwork, respect, safety, and patient‑centered care aligned with the WakeWay to Excellence.Supporting WakeMed’s mission, values, and patient‑care standards. Who You’ll Care ForYou’ll support Respiratory Therapists caring for:Adult patients across acute, intermediate, and critical care areasAdults with a wide range of respiratory and cardiopulmonary conditionsA diverse, fast‑paced patient population that depends on your clinical leadership What You’ll BringRequired Licensure & CredentialsRegistered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)Active North Carolina Respiratory Care Practitioner LicenseRequired Certifications (Adult Care):Basic Life Support (BLS)Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)Leadership experience is always a plus — but if you’re a strong communicator, clinically confident, and passionate about building others up, we’d love to meet you. Why WakeMed? When you join WakeMed, you’re stepping into a community that values excellence, growth, and teamwork.
