We are seeking a Cytotechnologist to join our collaborative Cytology team at our Newark campus.This is an outstanding opportunity for an experienced Cytotechnologist or a new graduate seeking to build a career within one of the region’s leading health systems while enjoying an exceptional work-life balance.Schedule• Monday-Friday• Day Shift• No weekends• No holidays• No on-call responsibilitiesWhat You’ll DoAs a Cytotechnologist, you will work closely with Pathologists and laboratory professionals to provide accurate and timely diagnostic information that directly impacts patient care.Responsibilities include:Examine gynecologic and non-gynecologic cytology specimens according to established laboratory protocolsPerform microscopic evaluation and interpretation of cytologic specimensParticipate in fine needle aspiration (FNA) adequacy assessment proceduresPrepare non-gynecologic specimens using smear, cytocentrifugation, and filtration techniquesDocument findings and maintain required workload and regulatory recordsPrepare and maintain laboratory reagents and staining solutionsParticipate in quality assurance and quality control activitiesCommunicate effectively with Pathologists, physicians, nurses, and laboratory colleaguesAssist with training and mentoring students and new team membersMaintain compliance with CAP, CLIA, accreditation, and laboratory safety standardsWhy ChristianaCare?Nationally recognized health systemCollaborative and supportive Pathology leadership teamModern laboratory environmentStrong commitment to professional development and continuing educationComprehensive medical, dental, and vision benefits403(b) retirement plan with employer matchGenerous paid time off with rollover opportunitiesTwelve weeks of paid parental leaveCare.com membership and backup dependent care supportFinancial wellness and retirement planning resourcesEmployee wellness reimbursementEmployee discounts on travel, entertainment, sporting events, and moreQualificationsBachelor’s degree in Cytotechnology or Bachelor’s degree in a science discipline with Cytotechnology certification program completion CT (ASCP) certification preferredOne year of Cytology experienceExperience with fine needle aspiration adequacy assessmentNew graduates are encouraged to apply.Hourly Pay Range: $38.22 - $61.16This pay rate/range represents ChristianaCare’s good faith and reasonable estimate of compensation at the time of posting.
