Job Description:

Responsible for the effective daily coordination and monitoring of Patient Transportation services in a hospital environment through timely and accurate dispatch, management of customer transportation requests and efficient assignments of transport personnel utilizing the software applications. Ensure positive patient, requestor and transporter satisfaction by providing excellent customer service on the floor or on the phone. If resources are available, the dispatcher may be asked to assist with patient transports during high volume times.Education: ▪ Required: High school diploma or equivalent Experience: ▪ Required: 6 months of patient transport or related hospital experience Skills: ▪ Organizational skills necessary to plan, organize, coordinate and direct the activities of transport requests and staff productivity ▪ Basic computer skills; ability to troubleshoot system problems related to computer or software systems and initiate internal or external resolution to system issues ▪ Analytical ability to constantly evaluate task and personnel status; interpret demand and response times in accordance with patient acuity and personnel availability ▪ Mental ability to provide excellent judgment for problem solving related to response time and performance of staff coordination of activities related to Patient Transportation Services; enforcement of policies under emergency or stressful situations ▪ Excellent interpersonal skills necessary to interact, motivate and communicate with a wide range of staff and hospital personnel in a professional manner; guest relation’s skills must be strong, genuine and noticeable ▪ Flexible work schedule Licensure/Certification/Registration: ▪ N/A
