Senior Accountant/Financial Analyst

**POSITION SUMMARY: **

Responsible for maintaining the general ledger, subsidiary ledgers and journals and closing the general ledger on a monthly. Provides assistance to the department Director preparing the monthly financial statements.

SUMMARY AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Responsible for daily bank account reconciliation and transaction entry.
• Responsible for monthly journal entries and preparation of month end financials.
• Monthly and ad hoc reporting to leadership and managers, highlighting trends, risks, and opportunities for operational efficiency.
• Responsible for monthly reconciliation of all balance sheet and income statement accounts as necessary, especially all bank account and payroll liabilities.
• Analyze financial data to identify discrepancies.
• Assist with vendor statement reconciliation to ensure accurate Accounts Payable balances.
• Assists Staff Accountants and Accounting Assistant as needed.
• Participates and provide assistance in the Annual Audit, Cost Report and Budget processes including but not limited to preparing documentation as requested for these processes.

REPORTS TO: Controller

SUPERVISES: None

**INTERNAL AND EXTERNAL CONTACTS: **

Governmental Agencies, Financial Institutions, Department Leaders and Finance Committee

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance
• 3-5 years' related Accounting Experience; Health care preferred
• Proficiency in accounting software and financial management tools
• Understanding of internal controls and testing
• Strong communication skills
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and time-management skills

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Required to stand and / or walk frequently, handle light materials, close visual attention, concentration and computer keyboard.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

Clean, well lit, ventilated office with ergonomically correct workstation, possible partially remote work from home arrangements available after initial onboarding. Collaborative environment requiring potential interaction with management, clinical staff, and external auditors.
