The Women#s and Children Assistant Director of Nursing directs, coordinates and evaluate clinical practice and processes for Women#s and Children#s Services. Works collaboratively with nursing leadership and providers to ensure the provision of safe, quality patient care. Ensures that all clinical practice activities comply with SVHC policies and procedures, regulatory and accreditation requirements. Responsible for onboarding, education, coaching, practice evaluation and continuous quality improvement activities related to clinical practices in collaboration with providers and Director to maintain the highest quality patient care standards. Minimum Education: Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing (BSN) required; Master#s degree in Nursing preferred # Minimum Work Experience: Experience in direct patient care required. Progressively responsible leadership experience in nursing. Experience with a Magnet-designated facility preferred # Required Licenses/ Certifications: Certification in Perinatal Nursing and Nursing Administration preferred. Active, unencumbered RN licenses in VT # Required Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities: Knowledge of Vermont Nurse Practice Act required. Must be familiar with staffing and scheduling, patient flow and placement, and staffing rations, acuity systems and nursing skill mix. Ability to maintain current Health Care Provider BLS/ACLS/PALS/NRP certification required. Ability to successfully complete annual mandatory education requirements in accordance with educational policies. Ability to maintain a valid Vermont Registered Nurse License. Knowledge of Organizational/Departmental operations to include emergency preparedness. Ability to participate in departmental Quality Improvement Activities required. Ability to effectively operate Meditech HIS/Athena/Obix/Picis/OR Manager and a variety of Microsoft Office software required. Ability to utilize the nursing process in providing patient care required. Ability to effectively use the SVHC intranet to access and implement the policies and procedures required. Ability to demonstrate necessary competencies for specific jobs required. Ability to accurately document patient information and nursing process required. Ability to consistently display professional, ethical, standards of care consistent with SVMC Nursing Magnet designation required. Knowledge of all team members roles, scope of practice and responsibilities required. Knowledge of and ability to apply the principles of evidenced based nursing care required. #
