About the Role:The Dietary Aide plays a vital role in supporting the nutritional and dietary needs of residents within assisted living or healthcare facilities. This position ensures that meals are prepared, served, and delivered in a timely and sanitary manner, adhering strictly to dietary guidelines and individual resident requirements. The Dietary Aide collaborates closely with dietary staff and healthcare professionals to maintain high standards of food safety and infection control. By providing compassionate and attentive service, the Dietary Aide contributes to the overall well-being and satisfaction of residents. This role requires a commitment to following detailed instructions and working effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team to promote a positive dining experience.Minimum Qualifications:High school diploma or equivalent.Ability to follow written and oral instructions accurately.Basic knowledge of food service and infection control practices.Demonstrated patience and ability to relate positively with residents and team members.Legal authorization to work in the United States.Preferred Qualifications:Previous experience working in assisted living or healthcare dietary services.Certification in food safety or dietary aide training.Familiarity with special dietary requirements and nutrition guidelines.Strong teamwork and communication skills.Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment.Responsibilities:Assist in the preparation and serving of meals according to prescribed dietary plans and facility standards.Ensure all food handling and serving procedures comply with infection control and safety regulations.Deliver meals to residents, accommodating special dietary needs and preferences while maintaining a respectful and positive demeanor.Clean and sanitize dining areas, kitchen equipment, and utensils to uphold hygiene standards.Collaborate with dietary and healthcare staff to communicate resident needs and report any concerns related to food service or resident health.Skills:The required skills such as patience and the ability to follow both written and oral instructions are essential for ensuring that dietary plans are executed correctly and residents receive appropriate meals. Working as a team member and relating positively to others facilitates smooth collaboration with kitchen staff, healthcare providers, and residents, enhancing overall service quality. Infection control knowledge is applied daily to maintain a safe and hygienic environment, preventing contamination and illness. Food service skills ensure that meals are prepared and served efficiently while meeting dietary standards.
