Overview Provides direct and indirect patient care to implement treatment programs under direction of an Occupational Therapist in response to physician referrals and in accordance with a plan of care jointly developed. The scope of practice includes training in the following areas: activities of daily living, functional mobility, upper extremity restoration and splinting, cognitive, and perceptual, family and patient education, psychological (both individual and in group setting). Responsibilities - Demonstrates a commitment to professional growth and ongoing development. - Exhibits flexibility by working across multiple venues and adjusting schedules to support departmental needs and mission objectives. - Participates in community education initiatives in collaboration with hospital education programs. - Recognizes the need for changes in the plan of care and communicates recommendations promptly to the supervising therapist. - Promotes continuity of care through accurate documentation and effective verbal communication. - Utilizes computer systems proficiently to ensure accurate billing and clinical documentation. - Maintains a professional demeanor and appearance at all times. - Safely and effectively transfers patients with significant physical and/or cognitive impairments. - Responds appropriately and efficiently to Specific Task Requests. - Demonstrates strong clinical competence and sound professional judgment. Qualifications - Prefer two years clinical experience within the last three years. - Previous home health or long-term care experience preferred. Competencies Skills Essential: * Clear Communication Skills Both Written and Verbal * Able To Keep Confidential Information Regarding Patients, Team Members * Able To Withstand Crisis Situations * Has Skills to Provides Customer Service to Patients, Team Members and Visitors * Knowledge And Experience with Electronic Health Records * Experience With Excel, Power Point, Word, Visio, Etc. Credentials Essential: * COTA - Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant * BLS - Basic Life Saving certification Education Essential: * Associate's degree in related field Entry USD $24.62/Hr. Max USD $38.16/Hr.
