Job Description

Position Summary/ Department Summary: Nurse Practitioner, Lung Transplant Program Key Responsibilities: Sole NP in the lung program, providing comprehensive inpatient and outpatient health care services to lung transplant patients throughout the entire spectrum of care from pre-transplant education, evaluation and management to transplant and follow up care. Train and work alongside the advanced cardiac therapies APRNs for planned time off cross coverage in heart transplant program. Closely monitoring immunosuppressive therapy and collaboratively instituting an appropriate diagnostic and therapeutic plan when there are signs of rejection and infection. Serving in an integral role within the larger multidisciplinary team for the long-term care of transplant patients by and being an educational resource to both staff and patients/families. Involvement in program and protocol updating, discharge planning, community teaching, quality initiatives, database management, insurance site visits as well as strict regulatory compliance. This is an excellent opportunity to work alongside renowned transplant surgeons and transplant physicians in one of the nation’s premiere children’s hospitals and top pediatric transplant programs by volume in the nation. Working 40 hours per week M-F: either five 8-hour shifts or four 10-hour shifts Education: Master’s degree in Nursing Experience: 1 year of RN experience required 3-5 years of pediatric Nurse Practitioner experience and critical care nursing or transplant experience is strongly preferred Exceptional recent NP graduates will be considered with transplant RN experience. The ability to work independently and must possess excellent time management skills with fine attention to detail. Excellent communication and collaborative skills, analytic skills to resolve issues of complex patient population Licensure/ Certifications: A current Nurse Practitioner license in MA This role offers a competitive sign‑on bonus ranging from $5,000 + based on your experience. The posted pay range is Boston Children’s reasonable and good-faith expectation for this pay at the time of posting. Any base pay offer provided depends on skills, experience, education, certifications, and a variety of other job-related factors.
