Common problems seen in our unit include chest pain, syncope, congestive heart failure, pneumonia, and diabetes. Our nurse to patient ratio ranges from 4-6 patients depending on acuity. Our patient care tech ratio can range from 8-16 patients. Our care team includes a Charge Nurse, staff nurses and patient care techs with support from respiratory, lab, and case management departments. We orient new patient care techs with a 4-6 week orientation program with a dedicated preceptor team. Job SummaryJob SummaryProvides basic patient careAssists in the maintenance of a safe and clean environmentTakes and records vital sign (VS) data and relays to patient's nurseProvides general nursing care and routine treatment /proceduresFacilitates processing of patientsProvides clerical receptionist supportProvides Coordinating SupportPerforms additional duties related to the specific needs of the department QualificationsEducationHigh School diploma or equivalent GED Certification as a nursing assistant or 6 months of recent experience as a nursing assistantExperienceSix (6) months of recent experience as a nursing assistantCurrent certification as a Certified Nursing Assistant or one clinical semester of nursing school or successful completion of an acute care nurse aide course; or six (6) months previous experience in a healthcare position can be substituted for the experience(Above requirements can be met by the equivalent combination of education and experience). Licensure/CertificationBasic Life Support *(BLS) training or re-training is required during orientation prior to providing patient careCurrent Basic Life Support (BLS) is required to be maintained through re-training for duration of employmentCertified Nursing Assistant preferred Schedule7p-7a Work ShiftNight Position TypeRegular Full Time
