Job Description

Entity: Owensboro Health Twin Lakes Medical Center | Department: Pharmacy Inpatient | Work Hours: 80 | Weekend Requirements: As Needed | 1.0 FTE

Job Summary:

Provides clinical pharmacy services throughout the hospital. Assists in staffing surgery satellite and central pharmacy in distribution areas as needed.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Manages drug therapy protocols as a part of an interdisciplinary team.

  • Reviews, interprets, and evaluates medication orders to identify, prevent, and resolve potential or actual drug related problems.

  • Provides drug information and education to medical staff and patients.

  • Documents interventions and their outcomes for use in drug therapy quality improvement efforts.

  • Oversees and coordinates Pharmacy Technician activities as needed to ensure maintenance of a smooth workflow and all service standards are met.

  • Models and helps maintain a professional atmosphere in the Pharmacy aligning with Owensboro Health's Core Commitments.

  • May apply interpersonal skills and techniques to deescalate and/or attempt to resolve the conflict between two or more team members

Skills and Attributes:

  • Requires critical thinking skills and decisive judgment.

  • Works under minimal supervision.

  • Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.

Education

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Pharmacy required upon hire

Licensure/Certification/Registration

  • R.Ph. - Licensed as a Pharmacist in the state of Kentucky required upon hire
