Job Overview ** ** The Recovery Room (PACU) Registered Nurse (RN) - PRN provides direct nursing care to patients recovering from anesthesia following surgical or procedural interventions. The RN utilizes evidence-based practice, critical thinking, and clinical judgment to assess, monitor, and manage patients throughout the recovery process while promoting safe, high-quality care and discharge. This position collaborates with physicians, anesthesia providers, and the interdisciplinary team to deliver patient-centered care and education. ** ** Essential Responsibilities * Assess, monitor, and care for patients during the post-anesthesia recovery phase. * Recognize and respond to changes in patient condition. * Administer medications and treatments as ordered. * Collaborate with physicians, anesthesia providers, and the healthcare team. * Educate patients and families on recovery and discharge instructions. * Document patient care accurately and maintain required certifications. * Work a flexible PRN schedule based on department needs. ** ** Qualifications * Graduate of a nationally accredited school of professional nursing; no experience required. Graduates of non-nationally accredited programs must have one (1) year of professional nursing experience. * Current Registered Nurse (RN) license. * BLS and ACLS certification required; PALS preferred or as required by the facility. * BSN preferred or an approved education plan in place.
