ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Responsible for the leadership, professional development and direction of the Clinical Leadership team to assure safety and quality outcomes for those served. Retain administrative oversight through individual department managers and supervisors in; Med Surg, Pharmacy, Emergency Department, Surgical Department, Cardiopulmonary, Clinical Education, House supervisors, Emergency Management and Bone & Joint. Participate in planning, implementing and evaluation organizational services at the administrative level. Serve as a member of professional staff committees in matters pertaining to patient care. Demonstrate sound decision-making skills applying applicable nursing theory, scientific knowledge from social, biological and physical sciences, standards of practice, hospital and other regulatory requirements to ensure optimal patient care delivery. A committed and cooperative working relationship with patients, visitors and facility staff is demonstrated. Participates in the development, review, revision, approval and implementation of policies and procedures that govern patient care. Participates with the governing body, management, medical staff and clinical leaders in the hospital’s decsion making process. Coordinates with CEO, CFO and other Administrative team to assure budgets, productivity supplies and equipment meet the expectations of quality outcomes. Serve as professional role model. ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES : Keeps the Administrate team informed of Nursing/Clinical service activities. Collaborates with the medical staff regarding clinical aspects of patient care. Represents nursing service on various Medical Staff committees. Provides guidance and counsel to supervisory staff as well as to other clinical staff. Provides adequate communication within clinical leadership team. Participates in the continuous Quality Improvement process and assures it is accomplished on an on-going bases. Reviews and monitors work schedules, work hours and assignments of Nursing services personnel and effects change as needed. Keeps informed regarding patient census an acuity. Makes nursing service rounds on regular basis. Promotes and encourages professional growth and development of Nursing service personnel through attendance at educational in-services, competencies, seminars and conferences. As assigned. KNOWLEDGE/SKILL/ABILITIES: As required for an executive position within the organization. Advanced computer knowledge. AGE-RELATED COMPETENCIES: Demonstrates the basic knowledge and skills necessary to identify age-specific patient needs appropriate for this position. Information Management: Treats all information and data within the scope of the position with appropriate confidentiality and security. Risk Management/Quality Management/Safety: Cooperates fully in all Risk Management, Quality Management, and Safety Activities and Investigations. MINIMUM POSITION QUALIFICATIONS: Education – Graduate of an accredited school of nursing; BSN required, MSN preferred. Work Experience – One year of management required. Training – N/A License/Certification – Current New Mexico RN license and BLS required. ENVIROMENTAL CONDITIONS: Work environment consists of daily patient contact, which may include exposure to blood, or other body fluids.
