Christiana Hospital is seeking an Assistant Nurse Manager (ANM) for the 3D Transitional Medical Care Unit (TMU). This role supports the Nurse Manager in providing overall administrative leadership for nursing practice and ensuring the delivery of high‑quality, cost‑effective care to all patients and families served by the unit.The Assistant Nurse Manager shares 24‑hour responsibility and accountability with the Nurse Manager for all operational aspects of the unit and plays a key role in staff development, quality outcomes, and daily clinical operations.The 3D Transitional Medical Unit (TMU) is a Progressive Care Unit caring for patients with a wide range of complex medical conditions, including but not limited to:Ventilator‑dependent respiratory failureCOPDPulmonary hypertensionAcute renal failureGI bleedDiabetic ketoacidosis (DKA)SepsisTMU nurses are highly skilled in caring for complex patients and procedures, including:Ventilator managementTracheostomy careSuctioningAdvanced wound careThis is an ideal environment for experienced clinicians seeking to advance into leadership while remaining close to the bedside.HighlightsStep onto the leadership trackCompetitive compensationRobust healthcare benefits403(b) retirement planTuition reimbursementGenerous paid time offOpportunity to make a direct impact on the health of our communityKey ResponsibilitiesIn this role, you will:Assist the Nurse Manager in the overall administrative direction of nursing practice and the delivery of high‑quality, efficient patient careShare 24‑hour responsibility and accountability for daily operational activitiesDirectly supervise nursing and technical staff, including:Assessing staff competency and proficiencyOverseeing daily staffing and schedulingEvaluating performance and providing coaching and counseling as neededParticipate in hiring, promotions, salary adjustments, and termination decisionsServe as a visible and transparent role model, demonstrating professional behaviors that support staff development and the strategic goals of Christiana Care Health SystemIdentify and implement strategies to enhance staff knowledge, professionalism, and engagementDirect, mentor, and support staff at all levelsIdentify potential future leaders and actively engage in succession planningAnalyze administrative and operational processes and implement improvements that support unit and system‑wide goalsEducation & LicensureBachelor’s or Master’s degree in Nursing requiredMaster’s degree required within three (3) yearsCurrent RN license requiredExperienceMinimum of 5 years of appropriate clinical and leadership experienceProgressive Care or Intensive Care experience preferredCertificationsBLS requiredACLS preferredCurrent professional certification requiredScheduleFull‑time positionFlexibility to work day, evening, and night shiftsWeekend and holiday requirements per departmental guidelinesHourly Pay Range: $52.97 - $84.75This pay rate/range represents ChristianaCare’s good faith and reasonable estimate of compensation at the time of posting.
