Position HighlightsHours: Full-Time/40 hoursShift Details: Days, 1st shiftPosition SummaryThe Pharmacy Operations Specialist in conjunction with the Pharmacy Leadership and in accordance with established policies and procedures is responsible for coordinating activities and inventory within the hospital pharmacy as well as the off-site locations within the health system. The Pharmacy Operations Specialist is responsible for inventory management and activities that ensure adequate supply of medications, and compliance with all applicable laws and regulations to provide the safest and highest quality care for our patients.Job ResponsibilitiesUnder direct supervision:Oversee inventory, manage ordering, restocking, and ensure timely medication supply for off-site locations within the health systemMonitor adherence to all DSCSA mandates, including product tracing, serialization and verification for the main hospital and off-site locations within the health systemInvestigate and resolve DSCSA-related issuesMonitor and coordinate inventory levels of compounded batch medications to ensure appropriate available supply for patient care while minimizing drug cost and wasteEvaluate and adjust inventory levels of medications on patient care units Participate in schedule creation and maintenance for pharmacy technician staff Coordinate delivery of external medications to support outpatient infusion clinic scheduleAdhere to all pharmacy policies, Joint Commission, and state/federal regulationsParticipates in other pharmacy technician duties as assigned by Pharmacy LeadershipAssist in performing physical inventories as required by the hospital and laws and regulations and prepares inventory reports for the Pharmacy Director.Adheres to all Core Values (Compassion, Pursue Excellence, Cooperation and Collaboration, Upholds Honesty, and Supports Innovation).Adheres to all Absolutes (Privacy and Confidentiality, Professional Appearance, and Responsibility and Commitment). Other job-related duties as assigned. Minimum Requirements:Registered in or eligible for registration in the State of CT as a Pharmacy TechnicianA graduate of an ASHP Accredited Technician Program and/or holds a National Pharmacy Technician CertificationExperience with computers, mathematical calculations, medication nomenclature, and aseptic technique for IV admixtures required.Willingness to work as part of a team and as well as independentlyAdvanced pharmacy technician certification preferred Associate degree in Pharmacy Technology or sciences preferredAbout Middlesex HealthThe Smarter Choice for your Career!
