Position HighlightsDepartment: North 7Hours: Per DiemWeekend Requirement: Insert Every Other Weekend or Every Third WeekendPosition SummaryThe Mental Health Worker is an integral member of the behavioral health team aimed at maintaining patient safety and participating in therapeutic interventions for a diverse group of behavioral health patients.  Essential Duties & ResponsibilitiesUnder General Supervision the Mental Health Worker will;Build therapeutic relationships with patientsDemonstrates effective use of verbal de-escalation skillsObserves patients to ensure patient safety including sitting one to one with patients.Records patient behaviors and activityUtilizes individualized activities to assist with patient satisfaction and recovery appropriate for behavioral health patientsAssists nursing staff with maintaining a therapeutic milieuMaintains compassion and patience in challenging situations.
