Position HighlightsDepartment: North 7Hours: Per DiemWeekend Requirement: Insert Every Other Weekend or Every Third WeekendPosition SummaryThe Mental Health Worker is an integral member of the behavioral health team aimed at maintaining patient safety and participating in therapeutic interventions for a diverse group of behavioral health patients. Essential Duties & ResponsibilitiesUnder General Supervision the Mental Health Worker will;Build therapeutic relationships with patientsDemonstrates effective use of verbal de-escalation skillsObserves patients to ensure patient safety including sitting one to one with patients.Records patient behaviors and activityUtilizes individualized activities to assist with patient satisfaction and recovery appropriate for behavioral health patientsAssists nursing staff with maintaining a therapeutic milieuMaintains compassion and patience in challenging situations. Responds to and assists with the management of emergency situationsCompletes vital signs and assists with ADLs and other direct patient care needs as directed.Maintains open communication and collaborates with all members of the treatment team in the implementation of the patient’s plan of careAdheres to all Core Values (Compassion, Pursue Excellence, Cooperation and Collaboration, Upholds Honesty, and Supports Innovation)Adheres to all Absolutes (Privacy and Confidentiality, Professional Appearance, and Responsibility and Commitment)Other job related duties as assigned Minimum QualificationsMinimum Education and Experience: Minimum Years of Experience: 1 year in a mental health setting (internal PCT eligible with at least 1 years of experience are eligible to train for the Mental Health Worker)Minimum Education: Highschool Diploma or equivalentCertification/Credentials: CNA certificationPreferred Education and Experience: Preferred Years of Experience:Preferred Education: Preferred Education: Associates degree in a mental health related fieldCertification/Credentials: Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:Knowledge of of mental health disorders and treatment modalitiesResponds calmly and effectively to challenging situation Excellent interpersonal skills Strong communication skills Comprehensive Benefits OfferedCompetitive and affordable benefits packageShift DifferentialsContinuing Education assistanceTuition reimbursementStudent Loan relief through FiduciusQuick commute access from I-84, Route 9 and surrounding areas
